Epic fantasy for adults · Coming soon to Kindle and paperback
The Book
In the Realm, a child born with a Mark does not stay home for long. The Order comes for them, and takes them to Iridia: a white city inside three rings of wall, set in fields of purple lupins.
Kyron is ten when the Order finds his village, a place on no map. Bella Finch was raised to read a ledger and knows what everything costs. Tarmon Oakarm wants only to be a knight. Inside Iridia's walls they grow up together, and apart.
Far to the north, a Wolf born in war has gathered the tribes into a Horde and given its killing a name. Ronnan means to kill the Great Seal, cull his own kind, and leave alive only those he judges worthy.
The Culling is coming to Iridia.
The Characters
From a village with no name
The son of an outlaw and a mysterious mother, with a Mark no one has seen before. Life clings to him.
A Finch always delivers
The youngest daughter of wealthy House Finch, which rose to prominence through its courier service. Bella is expected to go to Iridia and come back with wings.
The son of the Roost
The heir to Baron Oakarm's legacy, with one ambition: to be made a knight in front of an oak tree, like his father and his father before him.
The World
From the Roost to the Morgan Steppes, from Iridia's lupin fields to the Black Gate.
The white city of the Order, behind three rings of wall, where the Great Seal rules and the Marked are raised.
Every power shows on the skin in purple, and every Mark is a picture of what it does. Some no one has ever seen before.
What Ronnan's Horde calls its war: not a slaughter of everyone, but a choosing of who gets to live.
